In support of Lisa Hilton
OK so Call me Crazy!! but dont you think we calls up a good defense?? In Lisa Hiltons most recent article "what's Wrong with skinny?" she speaks in support of models in the world who walk the runways. It is a job and people make sacrifices in the world for positions of glomour, authority and class and the issue of super skinny models and eating disorders stretches much further than the end of the catwalk. "It is a feminist issue because it grabs the headlines from more serios issues" Lisa says. If people were more concerned with the skyrocketing rate of obesity within the country or medical issues that are far more important than cutting a few calories it would be a different story. I understand she is not saying that eating disorders such as anorexia are not concerning as a health risk but that the majority of patients with serious conditions vouch that tabloids and the fashion world are not the reason or the soul reason for their mental and physical condition.
In my personal opinion i think its more healthy to overexercise than to sit on a couch and run your risk for cardiovascular issues, high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity and many more health problems that face North Americans daily.
There is a limit to what is safe but who can say that the woman of a new born child isnt hurting herself through extreme dieting even though she may have a few extra pounds, or the up and down elastic diets and binging issues of women looking to loose maybe only 5 pounds but in 2 days?
For models on the runway sometimes its worth it to them to not eat their ice cream and make a few dollars. the same as it may be worth it to a CEO selling a major campaign to cut 6 hours of sleep out to get the job done. Both are not great options but for drive, the human mind sometimes becomes irrational. An Olympic athlete doesn't quit after a sever injury with the risk of never walking again. They push because its worth it to them to be at the top.
So why are we scrutinizing these women again? maybe its jelousy or maybe its not ,however for the handful of women who take possible extreme measures there are 2 times the amount.. and usually the successful ones, who are actually naturally thin.

Alexander McQueen inspires my black frock
This is a heart wrenching moment for anyone who followed the stupendous and inventive fashions of the always amazing Alexander McQueen. Police say his death was on account of suicide when he was found in his London home Thursday. After celebrating his 40th birthday, the recent death of his mother caused him much pain as it would anyone, however his depression was taken as a possible publicity stunt.
The Fashion rebel held his place in the hearts of many designers, models, celebrities, artists and fashion followers. He lived in the future and never left any space for "more". as the turn of 2010 crept up on the fashion world i'm sure many were itching to see what his new brilliance would be for NYs Mercedes-Benz fashion week and Paris' fashion week the week following.
Alexander McQueen is and will remain one of the worlds most influential designers.
He remains in the running for the Brit design Awards for the top design of 2010.
With our heads held low in respect we also cant help but wonder who will take over the house of Alexander McQueen??

dressed to impress!
NOW
one of my pics for best dressed is Dianna Agron's sophisticated silver grown. She illuminates class and beauty.
next on my list is Kate Bechinsale with THE MOST stunning silhouette on the red carpet.
Even Rachel Wood take the bronze medal on my podium with her luxurious glam twist on the flapper dress.
gloden globes meets glee!!
well talk about a break though this January 18th! receiving a stack of nominations and a brag worthy amount of awards, The new Television series comedy musical mashup "GLEE" has taken over! with statues in hand for best T.V. series comedy beating out much talked about and enjoyed sit-com's such as "the Office","30 Rock", and "entourage"
On top of this overall Win, 3 other nominations for Glee include
Lea Michele (Rachel Berry) for "Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy,"
Matthew Morrison (Will Schuester) for "Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy,"
and the most deserving for "Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television," Jane Lynch, for her laughter infusing comedy to the point of secondary embarrassment stealing role as Cheerios cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester.
although these FANominal 3 did not take it home individually, who can be disappointed with their achievements.
the show you love and for those of you not sure this craze will become your guilty pleasure kind of like your 8 dollar Starbucks cafe latte every sip is an indulgence till the last drop!
congrats to the GLEEKS!
